Trials and tribulations

These days my family and I are experiencing our share of tribulation. I will not go into details but it has to do with our finances. In times like this we humans seem to want to blame God for our difficulties, but I know better.
The truth is the world is cursed with sin. Unlike evolutionists, who want us to believe things are getting better over time, things are actually getting worse. Our sins are the major problem. One of those sins is GREED. We seem to have a nasty desire to get as much money as we can and keep it for our selves. The more money one has the more one wants.
The biggest problem with the sin of greed is that when we collect money we don’t want to give it up to anyone. Those who have it even make out like their doing the rest of us a favor when they donate some of their money to some charity. We play along with them and even go so far as to announce in the news media their exploits. Treating them as if they are gods or something.
The truth is that in the end we will all die and the money stays here. It boils down to not what we have done but what we believe. We will either go to hell or heaven depending on what we believed on earth while we lived. That is what I have to look forward to because I believe the gospel. I will join Jesus some day and the trials and tribulations my family and I went through will have helped us to grow closer to God.
One of the things I understand now is that God is long suffering and when I suffer He suffer with me. He isn't the cause of my turmoils but He can't simply end them because of the sin curse. He can't end my troubles but He can help me through them.
Most rich people will die in their sin. All the money in the world will not buy anyone of them out of hell. God has told us in the Bible that it is all about what we believe while we live on earth.
I, and others like me, may suffer hardship while we are here, but if we believe the gospel we will have a great eternity with God.
It reminds me of the story of Lazarus and the rich man. Most people like to argue over whether the story actually happened or if Jesus was telling a parable. I myself do not think that that is important. The truth is that Jesus is telling us what it is like being in heaven and in hell (Luke 16: 19-31). In the story we read about how Lazarus is sick and impoverished most of his life and the rich man has had all he wanted and has barely suffered. In the course of the story both men die and are buried. Lazarus goes to heaven and is comforted by Abraham himself, while the rich man is in hell burning for his sins. Jesus’ description of torment in hell is pretty graphic and eye opening. It is a story that all should read and it should help us to put things into proper perspective.
That sad fact is though that some of us won’t. There is this desire in each of us to live life on our own terms and be free from constraints. The truth is though that we either live sinful lives and are regulated by Satan or we live for God and live within His regulations. Either way you are serving some one. The life with out God may seem to be a great life, but the truth is it is filled with the same trials and tribulations, but God isn't there to help them to get through them.
Also, in truth, one who lives without God has a life fraught with more perils because of our being trapped by both Satan and our sins. The life lived with God is faced with the same trials and tribulations but we have God to help us cope with the bad times we all have. With God’s help I know my family and I will get through this dark time in our life. I don’t think those who are lost in their sin can get through everything that this life throws at us. I don’t even know how I did get through with out God before I got saved. The only thing I can think of is God has been helping me through my life even when I was lost. After all He is a kind and merciful God.
It may seem that I have gotten away from my original intent for this post but the fact is God is with me and He has helped me even while writing this to bring me to a closer relationship with Him. If it wasn’t for God this probably would have just been a rant on rich people and their desire to let the world suffer while they collect all the money, but as it turns out have nothing to worry about because no matter what happens on this sin cursed world I am with our Lord God and Saviour, Jesus Christ, Forever.
The Gospel is that our God, Jesus Christ died for our sins was buried and rose the third day. If we believe the gospel we will be saved from our sins and freed from them so we don't have to commit them anymore.
